Your charging needs will differ depending on your business. Our experts can guide your next steps & get you the best in charging hardware and software.
The Workplace Charging Scheme allows businesses to claim 75% of the total cost of installation, up to a maximum of £350 per socket installed and for up to a maximum of 40 sockets. These incentives will not be around forever and exist to take the sting out of a business initial investment into charging. Each site’s installation requirements are likely to be very different from one to another and there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution in charging. Individual site surveys are the best way to establish an informed idea of the expected costs associated with installation and to help identify the most suitable chargers and operating software for your location and needs.
Site Surveys are increasingly done remotely through specialised Apps and systems and this can be a great way to save money and time whilst still getting the insights you need to make key decisions around your infrastructure investment.
Site Surveys should also establish the available power you currently have at your site (to avoid jeopardizing the other power demands you may have such as ‘kitchens/ lighting/ plant etc.) as this determines how many EV chargers you can comfortably support before you require a grid upgrade.
Grid Upgrades are a request to the power supplier at your site (or DNO) for greater power supply. The reality is that this can be a costly process and require some amount of time and resourcing.
It is worth noting that there are chargers that offer real value in maximising your sites charging capacity through utilising smart software and technology i.e. through load balancing and charger management. These units can postpone the need for upgrades for significant periods as the demands of your EV fleets grow.
